Question 1

What Shopify orders does Rooktally monitor?

Accepted Answer

Rooktally monitors orders from the connected Shopify store for operational attention, including delayed, cancelled, and refunded order signals. The order view keeps the Shopify source and its freshness context visible so operators can review the underlying order before deciding what to do.

Question 2

How are Shopify products and variants covered?

Accepted Answer

The Shopify catalog lane imports products and their variants during historical setup and keeps their verified labels available alongside operational signals. Product and variant data remains Shopify-backed; it is not populated by the orders CSV import.

Question 3

What inventory information is monitored?

Accepted Answer

Rooktally monitors Shopify inventory snapshots by item and location, including available-unit context used for stock-pressure and low-stock operational signals. Inventory is available from the connected Shopify source; product, variant, and inventory CSV files are not supported.

Question 4

Can workspace owners configure alert lanes and severity thresholds?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Workspace owners can enable the alert lanes relevant to their operation and choose a severity threshold. Those settings apply inside the paid workspace; anonymous visitors cannot configure alerts or view the resulting work.

Question 5

How does the operational queue prioritize Shopify work?

Accepted Answer

Shopify-backed signals become prioritized operational queue items with filters, review context, and source-freshness information. The queue helps operators decide what needs attention first; it is protected inside the authenticated paid workspace and is not a public live dashboard.

Question 6

How do the initial import, webhooks, and sync freshness work?

Accepted Answer

After Shopify connects, the initial orders, products, and inventory import runs in bounded batches. Supported Shopify changes are handled through webhooks, while each resource exposes queued, syncing, complete, error, or blocked status plus freshness information. Monitoring is not ready until the required resources finish importing. If a connection or sync is stale, errored, or blocked, review the status, retry the sync, or reconnect Shopify before relying on current signals.

Question 7

How does the historical orders CSV import work?

Accepted Answer

The CSV workflow validates supported order fields before storing a bounded orders snapshot. It is orders-only, non-real-time history: the snapshot reflects the latest successful import and does not receive ongoing Shopify updates. Product, variant, and inventory CSV imports are unsupported, so CSV does not replace the live Shopify connection or its current monitoring lane.

Question 8

What are customer-update drafts, and are they sent automatically?

Accepted Answer

A customer-update draft is generated from verified order or inventory evidence for an operational issue. It remains editable and unsent, and an operator must review it before copying the draft elsewhere. No customer update is sent automatically. If the required order, inventory, or freshness context is missing or stale, the draft can be unavailable rather than filling in an unverified claim.

Question 9

What does the daily operational report include?

Accepted Answer

The protected daily report summarizes UTC queue movement, operational categories and actions, and the freshness of the underlying sources. It is available inside the authenticated paid workspace and supports print and PDF download when a shareable report is useful. The public FAQ does not expose report data or unauthenticated dashboard access.
